Group Volunteer Opportunities - Make an Impact Together
Looking for a meaningful team-building experience? Bring your company, community group, or group of friends to Haven on the Queensway and spend a few hours making a difference in the community.
Our group volunteer opportunities provide hands-on experiences supporting Haven’s programs and the individuals and families we serve. Depending on the day and program area, your group may sort and organize clothing, prepare food bank donations, pack essential kits, organize inventory, and more.
Come Together. Give Back. Make an Impact.

We saw firsthand all the hard work that goes into your organization. It’s awesome how you sort through clothes so people get the best possible quality of items. If you need assistance during Christmas to help sort food or clothes again we would be happy to help.

What Does a Volunteer Shift Look Like?
We want your group to feel welcomed, prepared, and supported from the moment you arrive. Here’s what you can expect:
-
Arrive & Get Settled
Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled shift to allow time to check-in and get settled. -
Welcome & Briefing
We’ll introduce your group to Haven, share more about our programs and the community we serve, review health and safety information, and explain the tasks your group will be completing. -
Get to Work
Your group will be introduced to the appropriate program coordinators and get started on hands-on volunteer tasks. Our team will be available throughout the shift to provide guidance and support. -
Wrap Up & Celebrate
At the end of your shift, we’ll come together for a quick tour of Haven, volunteer certificates, and a group photo before saying goodbye.
More Than Just Team Building
Your time at Haven directly supports the work we do every day for our community. Whether you're sorting donations, preparing essential items, or helping keep our programs running smoothly, your group is helping us provide practical support to people who need it.
You'll leave with more than a team photo — you'll leave knowing your time made a difference.
